Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's initial title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court since that period of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring reactions on court had caused some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to create a third set.

He saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
